Buick Frame Brace Empty Buick Frame Brace

This one was new to me, never heard of it until recently, apparently this was installed on some Buick Roadmasters, to soften the drone from the exhaust. Now everyone has their opinion and alot of folks are saying this doubles as a frame stiffener for increased frame strength, which increases handling of the car. This part is so cheap and easy to install, i mean why not? It bolts up just before the rear bumper in front of the 5mph absorbers, 4-13mm bolts later, and your done. You could probably fab one yourself. And these fit all b bodies from 77- 96, Impala ss's included. Search up gm part number 10225142 this thing only costs 21 bucks minus shipping, it comes painted black i believe. Now the next step up is a polished stainless steel brace that costs 55 bucks and heres the link to that http://rmsautoparts.com/proddetail.php?prod=SS-0054-StainlessRearFrameBrace

its worth a shot i guess. it would probably be pointless for someone like me without a rear sway bar but since it comes in stainless, may get one any way lol.

So all Buicks have them?  Might be able to go to the junk yard and get one for $10.00.

You can just make your own for a few bucks.  I did.  And yes it made a difference.  Basically, it boxes your frame in the rear adding more rigidity.  Installing a trailer hitch does the same thing too.

An added bonus is a quieter ride at highway speeds.  Very Happy
