Yeah the old one's diaphragm blew out it actually was leaking at the pump. This an easy swap only took me 30
minutes although I had no accessories in the way like AC or alternator. That Carter pump is USA made and was
shipped from Rock Auto for well under 20 dollars.

Rock Auto is the best! I have a pair of strut supports for my blazer coming in a couple days. The side of my fridge is starting to get filled up with their magnets, lol!

Not sure but I'm guessing the pump is going into a '79 Cap/Imp. Is the engine 305 or 350? Is it stock or performance? What is the part # of the new pump? What was the brand and part# of the pump with the blown diaphragm? Is your carb a Qjet? My issue relates to optimum Roch Qjet inlet psi - I'm omitting the details.
Staring at my engine bay ('79 Imp, stock 350, no A/C, no EGR, Edel int manif), I don't see any good place to mount a mechanical fuel pressure regulator with gauge (no return line). Any suggestions?
Since you seem to be a senior member of this forum, I'd like to ask you a question that I've had for some time. I'd like to understand the interest many of you have in the 77-79 (+ other years) Cap/Imp. What makes these cars special for you? Surely you must know that these cars never show up at any major auction like Mecum or Barrett-Jackson. Others seem to be more interested in Camaro, Chevelle, El Camino, Monte Carlo or Nova. Is money the issue? Are the Cap/Imp simply more affordable? In my case, I simply can't part with my '78 or my '79. I bought both of them new nearly 40 years ago. I'm just too attached to them. My neighbor, however, who owns two vintage Corvettes won't give me the time of day.
If anyone other than Myloth reads this thread, I'd like to know what makes you want to tear into these B-bodies as opposed to a different GM vehicle.

I got mine through summit came with bracket and self tapping screws on the rh lower fender well
Got couple inches of clearance at full lock with 205/70r15
Better brackets out there to buy/make but this was quick and worked

Im running a mechanical pump
The hose running to the rear feed the edel since the inlet is at the rear the sell adapters to make the fitting in the front ,since the line sits over the egr (reason for heat proof tubing)but Im going back to a qjet so no need for that anymore
