    Windshield Wipers Empty Windshield Wipers

Post  paulboncz Mon Dec 07, 2015 5:49 pm

I've searched in various places but can't find an answer concerning the 2 rotating posts to which the 2 wiper arms attach. On the RH passenger side, the post is enclosed by a protective bushing (for lack of a better word). On the LH driver side, the post is not enclosed. Is this normal for a 1979 Impala 4 Dr. Sedan or is there a bushing missing? My wiper motor is standard not pulsed. The GM Part # for the LH linkage is 22010449 and this # is the same for 77-81 B(Body). Thank you for reading my post. I will try to follow up this post with pictures.

Isn't that crazy, yours are the same as mine. I guessed that perhaps both posts were protected from dirt and rust but apparently not. Thank you very much Myloth for your pictures. They are a great help.

Just a FYI. NOS prices are through the roof. The lowest price I know of for GM 22010449 is $175. That's for just 1/2 the WSW transmission linkage!! Fortunately, mine is still working.
